I'm nuts about your stuff. I use my HV-3B's like crazy on every
record. And am dying to get the new 8-ch version. I tried one of
your other boxes at Electrical Audio once (I play bass in Shellac
with Steve Albini - did the audio system design for his studio -
and in fact am here right now making a record).

best,
Bob [Weston]

Dear Joel, Peggy, Wayne, and Larry:

One hears a great deal about the quality and performance of Millennia Media products, and one hears a lot also about tens of thousands of channels deployed, and about big-name customers using them.  But what I haven't heard mentioned much is the great and personal service and support you that you guys provide to ALL your customers.  I've never dealt with a company that provided such reliable, useful, immediate, and generous responses to  all inquiries and support requests.  You make the whole Millennia experience as beautiful as the sounds that come out of the equipment, for big and small customers alike.  Warm thanks and kudos!

These Amps are INSANE!!
With the same mics, we are hearing things we have never heard before.
We are hearing harmonics,  higher and lower frequencies that just where not getting to the mixer before Millennia Media.
When we crack open the mics on the mixer now , our jaws just drop.  WOW!
Vocals through our Audix OM-7's are so detailed and have such sparkle, that the mics sound like large diaphragm studio mics now.
Which is good and bad, we hear every detail....but for some rock and roll singers with a few hours of sleep and a 200 mile overnight drive...it may not be such a good thing.  Good singers sound phenomenal, so so singers, well OK ....sound worse.  There's nothing to cover up such detail, the amount of information coming off the mic is huge.  What is literally produced by the singer is heard, it sounds as if the singer is standing next to you.
We can actually lower volume levels and still get a better "sound" now, which is critical when recording to digital videotape.
There's also less need for EQ to make the instruments mix together, the wide open sound allows the various instrument frequencies to mix naturally.
Thanks to you and Millennia's outstanding quality products, FOX ROX has the world class sound we have only dreamed about.....and that makes mixing quality audio so much easier.

I have the Big Bottle by BLUE and today I put the B7 (U47) capsule on it and clicked in the VT EQ and compressor, added 2db at 16K rolled of -2dB at 100Hz
set the compressor to 4:1 reducing by 2-3dB then actually changed the VT pre to SS pre (I love that facility  - it's amazing) then hit record learned into the mic capsule and crooned on a "Stingish" latin number  - pressed playback and ................ a tear came to my eye  - my dream vocal sound coming back at me through the monitors. All those years of frustration with my Focusrite Red 7 - gone in an instant.

If this new album goes gold  - I will without doubt, owe a big thank you to the designers at Millennia  - this unit makes me sound like the star I have always had in my imagination. Just an incredible, inspiring piece of gear.

What can I say  - you have ANOTHER new fan.

I want to use R88 with HV3 for Indian acoustic music. There's a studio nearby that has a couple of channels of your pre, but its owned by a religious cult and is not available to public.

Hi John,

Since our HV-3D 8-channel preamp is now happily living in the attic above
the Meyerson Symphony Center stage... we're considering the purchase of
another. Even though the preamp is driving over 600 feet of star-quad cable (with
all that extra capacitance)... our mics really sound many times better
than ever before.

With best regards,
George Gilliam

Dear John

I have taken your advice and have been recording my voice with my U47 (Bottle B7) into the VT pre-amp path with the XFMR in then +2dB at 16K (1.0Q) into the
compressor set 4:1, 10ms attack and 100ms release, all VT path.

and boy ........ what a vocal sound  - think Sting meets Peter Gabriel !!

The Origin is a great machine  - truly special - and has allowed me not only to achieve a professional vocal sound but also to learn about the different effects of SS and VT and transformers - it's been such a great experience on many levels owning an Origin :-)
