PHONOGRAPHIC / ARCHIVING
PREAMPLIFIERS
The National Library of Canada
called us with a requirement for an
uncompromising phonographic
front-end. The device had to work
flawlessly with every known
equalization curve ever produced,
including acoustics, 16’s, 33’s,
45’s, 78’s, Edison cylinders, and
much more. Millennia created the
LPE-2 in response to this need, and
has delivered a number of units to
the National Library. The LPE-2
later became a standard Millennia
product, with scores of units
installed into the world’s top
archiving and mastering
laboratories.
A few years later, the US Library of
Congress wanted an even higher
performance unit and the LOC was
born.

MS ENCODER / DECODER
The San Francisco Opera
approached us with a need for a
world-class MS Decoding system.
We designed the MSD-02 for their
application; an all-discrete
mid-side decoding system
employing
an infinitely variable width
control, headphone output, and a
pair of HV-3 micamps. Later,
other requests came in for a box
that performed encoding as well
as decoding. The MED-2 was born,
but each unit is different,
customized per each user’s
unique needs.

MIXERS
Millennia’s Mixing Suite was
born from our founder’s (John La
Grou) need for a uncompromising
live-to-2 remote recording mixer.
Mixing Suites have now been acquired
by a who’s-who in critical acoustic
recording world-wide, including
numerous film scoring stages, post
production houses, and live
classical music recording companies.
Dozens of customized specialty
mixers have also been built-to-order
for engineers with unique
requirements.

ANALOG
DISTRIBUTION AMPLIFIERS
Georgetown Masters, founded by
the late Denny Purcell, came to us
with a requirement for a complex,
all-balanced, all-discrete analog
studio distribution system.
Millennia's custom Georgetown DA now
forms the essential core for any
customized analog distribution
system, for absolute critical DA
applications. Fifty-six high voltage
(100V) discrete FET + bi-polar
MM-120 amplifiers were used in the
Georgetown project, along with a
number of additional custom
enhancements and metering circuits.

HEADPHONE AMPLIFIERS
Top remote recording engineer,
Bruce John Leek, came to Millennia
with a need for a high-resolution
headphone amplifier. We responded
with an all-discrete, high-current,
ultra-fast topology that has been
field proven for years. This same
headphone amplifier topology has
been designed into custom rigs for a
number of microphone manufacturers
who demonstrate their mics at trade
shows, including DPA, Royer, and
Shure.

CUSTOM
SUMMING
We have designed a built a
number of custom summing
environments for DAWs. It is widely
known that DAW digital mixing
engines often suffer from "digititis"
- the modern plague of program
"granularity" and collapsing spatial
image. Savvy recording engineers
have long known the benefit of
analog summing of digital tracks.
Millennia can assist you in forming
the ideal summing environment, and
deliver a product unmatched in
detail, transparency, dynamic
headroom, and wide-band musical
accuracy. Custom summing and mixing
features are encouraged - contact
Millennia with your dream.

DISCRETE
AMPLIFIERS
Many engineers prefer to build
their own equipment. We encourage
this and offer our all-discrete
MM-990 (50V)
amplifiers for our customers' custom
projects.
